REALCOMPACTIFICATION OF A PRODUCT SPACE X × Y

Abstract

Observing that υX × υY is a Wallman realcompactification of X ×Y if υ(X ×υY ) = υX ×υY , we show that υ(X ×Y ) = υX ×υY if and only if X ×Y is z-embedded in υX ×υY and υX ×υY is a Wallman compactification of X × Y .
